Check out the new website for 2011! Please note we have made some changes for the coming year and here are some of the most important:

*Pricing has changed and is more specific to the hair style chosen. Please consult with your wedding party about their style choices.

*I am limiting to a max of 6 people per event and allowing for more time per person to ensure the best service to each person.

*I am requiring that I be the only hair stylist on site. While I would love to pretty you all up, your wedding party members are more than welcome to have their hair done by their own stylist or another stylist but I do request to have my own space and time with those I have been contracted to service.

*Make-up services will be contracted separately. I do recommend and love the work of Cindy McCalla - you can contact her at 618.514.4145.

I cant tell you in words how much I love hair accessories! Its not just about a veil and a tiara anymore. There are so many classy/trendy/HOT things to choose from. From broaches to feathers the possibilities are endless. Here are a few inspiration paletes from the web and then some examples from some great photographers!

Vintage trends are all the buzz lately...One very cool trend is the birdcage veil! I just love how classy this looks, they can be so unique. Instead of the usual white veil on a comb try something more original..here are some examples:

How cool is it that all the BM's are joining in..HOW COOL!!

While Im at it..I get a kick out of seeing how people express their sense of style through their shoes. I love that its not just for the girls anymore..the guys have been pretty savy themselves. Here's a few of my fav's from a few of my fav photogs!

It's been kinda crazy for me this summer..very busy with work, friends, family and of course WEDDINGS! I have started to get together pictures and here are a few of my favorites from Shannon and Stuart Ruwe's wedding. These are some shots from their "first glance"..this is an awesome idea..takes away the nerves before the ceremony and gives the couple a chance to really share the moment together!! Shannon came in for 2 trials..the first one was a "down do" and Im so glad she came back and decided on this very classic "updo".

I love that Shannon steered away from the swoop bang..in sticky St Louis summers, pulling the front back is MUCH cooler!

For those of you who wonder if I can REALLY do large parties by myself..heres proof!! Shannon had me for 13 updos..yes 13, and I didnt sweat it a bit..they turned out AMAZING!!

I really love these detail shots..Karin and Roger do a really good job of not missing a single one of them!!

Some of you might know..my BFF Sabrina Torti of Proposing Dreams and I had the honor of being a part of our friends Alisha and Lukes wedding in beautiful upstate New York!!

Alisha has done alot of photos for my website and is one of my favorite photographers EVER!!

It was only fitting for her to have a paparazzi of photographers at her own wedding. I thought I would share some photos with you!!

Jennifer Davis captured some great working shots for me!

Alisha wanted a very loose style and I think it turned out GREAT..we were very excited that we didnt have to use a hairpiece(that melted when I tried to curl it)lol!

Luke and Alisha presented their daughter with a necklace during the ceremony(very cool)a little bit emotional too!

This was a first for me..after dinner we wisked Alisha back to her room and CUT ALL HER HAIR OFF!!!!
She had this amazing vintage dress she wore for the 2nd half of her reception.
By far the most intense haircut I have EVER done! Jennifer got a great shot..

Jason Groupp was their main photographer and he got this amazing picture at the end of the night..check out the cute lil dress!

Her recpetion venue was breathtaking during the day and at night.

They had a great charactaturist..very fun to watch.

AMAZING DJ..we, (well they) danced the night away..I wore a pencil skirt..FYI-not good for dancing!!

Needless to say, we had an amazing time!
Thanks so much to Luke and Alisha for letting me share your experience, Ill definately be coming back..I MUST take a boat out on one of those beautiful lakes!

Today is my 8 year wedding anniversary!

My hubby John and I have been together for 12 yrs and have a wonderful 9 (almost 10) yr old son, I can remember my wedding day as if it where yesterday...trends and styles have changed SOOO much in 8 yrs.! So, here are some thoughts as I reflect back on my own wedding from 2001.

Remember when deciding on your theme and style, whether it be hair, attire or decor':

~dont go too "trendy", trends come and go and years down the road your younger friends say...wow, how long ago did you get married?lol! Believe me, Ive experienced it!

~Stay classic, you can never go wrong with classic!

~Timeless with a trendy or retro twist is cool too!

And of course to my hubby, I love you so very much and cant wait to eat SUSHI later!

A few Hair Style suggestions!!

My job can become VERY repetitive, I love to make suggestions on new styles that look fun to play with.

Here's a few:

If you have long hair and dont usually wear it up, dont do it on your wedding day..look like yourself!

DONT be afraid of accessories!

There is so much more out there than tiaras and veils!

I just LOVE the headbands!

For you short hair girls...dont grow your hair out!

If short hair is who you are..ROCK it on your wedding day!

Updos are always fun, just make sure you stay true to your era.

Its 2009, no more 80's curls ladies!

Always make sure that you bring VISUALS for your stylist!

What you picture, and how you explain it can turn out to be TOTALLY different!

October 4th 2008 Aimee Showers gets the “smallest wedding party” award! There was 3 all together which was very odd for me, Im used to parties of 7-11 people. It was very nice to be able to put so much time into making Aimee and her girls look “just right”! Photographer was SJ Macky

October 18th 2008 I had a blast with Michelle Olson and her big gang of friends and family! Michelle was such a calm bride and had all the faith in the world that I would make everyone absolutely beautiful, and of course I did all I needed was an additional stylist and a makeup artist and POOF one GEORGEOUS bridal party! October 28th 2008 All hail Studio B, I love them, just love em! They had the pleasure of working with my crazy family and co-workers at my cousin Tonias reception. Tonia and Jerry got married on October 10th in Mexico, I was lucky enough to go along. Tonia is also the owner of the salon I work at and REALLY wanted Studio B for her reception so all the girls at the shop and some friends and family made sure she got it, here are some photos…enjoy! May 31st 2008 I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Laura Snyder and her family. Laura continued to come see me at my salon in Collinsville to get her hair cut, I love when I get to keep in contact with these girls!

June 14th 2008 I did my first set of wedding day extensions on Laura Osburn and I must say they turned out AMAZING….we must have done three trials to get it “just right” but that’s what trials are for, I enjoyed every minute of Lauras company. Laura was lucky enough to have Studio B at her reception and I love this picture of her and her hubby. Andy The Bachelor was one of their groomsman….note him off to the side, funny huh?

Laura also did a “celebrate the dress” session with the Browers and I love this shot, Laura is such a beautiful lady!

February 2nd 2008 was my client and friend Kaityln Byrne (McNamara). I have been doing Kaitlyns hair for a good part of my career, she has brought me many clients from her college days at SLU, along with her sister, whose wedding I did late 2007. Sadly, I don’t have any pictures but believe me she was stunning!

March 29th 2008 was Christine Leeper. Christine came to me via my website and her and her bridal party were a lot of fun to work with so very early in the morning..heres a few photos that were just snapshots from a family member, but shows what great hair I had to work with.

I really havent had a whole lot going on this fall just a couple weddings, so I thought I share a few photos....Here is the beautiful Jody Bell..now Seipp, she was going for Vintage look and she nailed it right on the head!

Another one of my fall brides was Aimee Showers..In past posts I have said how much I LOVE chignons..and this is why! Aimees Photographer was Sj Macky and she is amazing!

My Makeup Artist and Good Friend Cindy Rushing is getting married this September and Sara is also taking her photographs....Congrats to Cindy and Ryan!

I havent had awhole lot going on as far as weddings go lately..so I havent had alot to talk about..I know you all have missed me..?
I do however have alot of trials coming soon..I will be posting pics from them.
I dont have a wedding untill May 31st, I plan on doing as much camping and boating till then as I can!!
I am excited to say that my website will be going through its yearly "revamping" thanks to my best buddy Sabrina aka jack of all trades!
Alisha Clark is coming to take some new pics for it which Im really excited about, I think shes amazingly talented! Im also doing her hair..Ill have to take a pic and let everyone see how cute she is!

So many times I find brides and bridemaids that think they have to GROW out their hair to be a bride or bridesmaid....

There are so mant great styles that will work for short styles..if short hair is who you are, for goodness sake dont grow it.

If youre going for an updo..I love smooth classy styles..chignon are my personal favorite.

As for girls who already have long hair and NEVER wear their hair up..why do it on your wedding day?

Go for a more realxed wavy hairstyle..I think the more natural you look, the more beautifull you can be!

I thought that I would let everyone know what to expect to see on the blog on a weekly basis.
I thought on Monday Id post a picture of a hairstyle that inspires me and maybe will do the same for you..and a few pics from styles Ive done the previous week whether it be at trials or weddings.
On Wednesday maybe some tips..on booking a day of stylist or just on hair in general.
On friday Ill let everyone know what my plans are for the weekend whether it be a wedding or just fun stuff I planned for my family..I like to share my experiences!

I just signed my 8yr old Chandler up for Karate and Im really excited about it..he is too!

As summer approaches, I tend to get REALLY busy and I want to make sure I get to see everyone in a timely manner.
